Homage tvo John Walker #'s 1-16
2021
Mixed Media
14.5" x 16.5" x 8" each

If you know John Walker's work you are familiar with his bingo card abstract paintings. From the time I first saw these works, I was inspired by the spontaneity of the works and the story behind them. I had collected some antique bingo cards as well as added to my growing assembly of Baggie Art and a sale on frames at a shop going out of business was the beginning of my homage. I had all the parts to make a series.

Inside each frame is a bingo card with oil unceremoniously squished upon the card. Behind each card is a secret compartment where I have included treasures from my baggie art collection. Memorabilia from my first red sox game to matches and a postcard from my favorite Seafood cafe in New York that vanished to the 911 attacks. All sorts of ephemera from my past. The only thing is, in order to access the treasures in the hidden chamber the collector would have to destroy the overall composition. Evil I know but fun.

ANd other art stuff as well
